4.1 a. Plan of action – Noise Management:

Statement of what the policy might achieve

It is hoped that this policy will go some way to lay down a procedure to deal with the different noise issues that occur. It will bring a similar standard of noise insulation to all our dwellings. This policy will define the ways in which we may spend Co-op money to improve a property.

4.1a) 1. Aims and Objectives

a). To support people suffering from noise

b). To do something about the origins of the noise

c). Devise and implement possible solutions e.g. floor insulation, glazing.

d). This policy will support those people complaining about noise problems whatever the origin of the noise. In the case of anti-social noise and behaviour the tenant should approach the Welfare Officer.

4.1a) 2. Whom this policy might cover and how

Firstly we are concerned with floor insulation (on which several trials have taken place to try and improve the standard of carpeting) since this is relatively easy and cost effective. Secondly we hope to insulate dwellings facing Harleyford road using Secondary Glazing.
